Evaluating the activities of press agencies in the province in recent times, basically newspapers and radio stations have well implemented their objectives and propaganda orientations, serving as both a tool for direction and management of Party committees and authorities at all levels and a forum for the people. The press has made many efforts to improve the quality of content and form and maintain the number of publications, focusing on social and charitable activities.
Provincial newspapers disseminate about 25,000 news articles each year (35 resident newspapers about 1,000 news articles). Nghe An Newspaper is published every day of the week, the number of newspapers published reaches more than 11,000 copies/issue, increasing from 4 pages to 6 pages and printing in 4 colors; Radio and Television Station broadcasts 6 channels, receiving VTV 119 hours/day and receiving VOV 20 hours/day, production time on television and radio is 11 to 12 hours/day, TV coverage is over 80% of the population. The websites of Nghe An Newspaper, Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Police Newspaper, and Culture Magazine all increase daily visits.
However, some newspaper management agencies need to further enhance their roles and responsibilities in managing, directing and orienting propaganda for press agencies under their units. Some newspapers are slow to innovate. Apart from Nghe An Newspaper, which has a stable circulation, other newspapers and magazines have low circulation. The province pays attention to press management through regulations and in accordance with the law.
