Burial ceremony of martyrs' remains at Do Luong Martyrs Cemetery

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 22, at the Martyrs Cemetery of Do Luong district, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province solemnly held a burial ceremony for 84 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who were recently collected in the second phase during the dry season of 2011-2012.

Attending the funeral were Colonel Tran Van Minh - Director of the Department of Policy of the Ministry of National Defense, Major General Vo Van Viet - Political Commissar of Military Region 4, and representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. On the side of Nghe An province, there were Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Committee of Nghe An province, representatives of departments, branches, unions of Nghe An province and a large number of cadres and armed forces of Do Luong district. On the side of Laos, there were Comrade Duong-chit Chang-xay-vang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Xieng Khouang province, Comrade Bum-mi Phut-tha-vong - Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Vientiane province.

These are the remains that the Special Working Group of the three provinces of Nghe An, Xieng Khouang and Vientiane coordinated with the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command searched for and recovered during the second phase, dry season 2011 - 2012 from remote, isolated and especially difficult areas of the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane, Laos.

Reading the eulogy at the ceremony, Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Group of Nghe An province, emphasized: "Today, the Fatherland welcomes you back with a triumphant song. Although there are tears, we are still proud because we have partly fulfilled our promise, brought you back to the Motherland, to your families, friends, and beloved villages. Although your families have suffered loss and pain, they are also very honored and proud to have had loyal sons who devoted their whole lives to the cause of national liberation and the noble international cause. The merits and names of the martyrs have added to the golden history and the heroic and indomitable fighting tradition of the nation, which will forever be passed down for future generations to learn and follow."

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane provinces, comrade Duong-chit Chang-xay-vang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Group of Xieng Khouang province expressed his deep gratitude to the martyrs of the volunteer army and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed for the noble international cause, for the happiness of the Lao ethnic people. The heroic martyrs' feats have contributed to glorifying and adding more color to the golden history of the two nations, while at the same time tightening the loyal sentiments, special solidarity and friendship between the two brotherly peoples of Vietnam and Laos "forever green, forever lasting". The Lao people and ethnic groups will forever remember the heroic martyrs' contributions. In the coming time, the Party Committee, government and people of the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane will continue to closely coordinate with the Special Working Group of Nghe An province and the Collection Team of the Provincial Military Command to continue searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs to return to their homeland.
