Prevent the abuse of the press for harassment

(Baonghean) -My friend who works at the provincial Dike and Flood Prevention Department complained that every day he had to receive phone calls from this magazine or that newspaper in the central agencies, departments and branches asking "the April 30th and May 1st anniversaries are coming up, please give the unit a page of "advertising"!

There is a newspaper like TT, which has never seen a reporter in its entire life. After a phone call, a few days later, a blank contract was sent, asking for signatures. Many times, the administrative unit was told that it had no resources, but they still did not forgive. Calling in the morning, calling at noon, and calling again in the afternoon, not answering was not possible, but answering was a waste of time, affecting work.

It is known that such actions by some subjects in some newspapers and magazines under central ministries and branches not only took place at the Flood and Storm Prevention and Control Department but also took place in many agencies and units in the province, causing harassment and trouble to the grassroots, contrary to the ethical code of journalists.

Therefore, the competent authorities and press management agencies need to take action soon to clarify and prevent grassroots harassment by those who take advantage of the name of the press. Especially, while the entire Party and people are studying and implementing Resolution 4 of the Central Committee "Some urgent issues on Party building at present", cadres, party members, and reporters of press agencies must be exemplary and take the lead in clarifying wrongdoings, especially harassment, harassment, and making things difficult for the grassroots.

Only then will press agencies and the press environment be clean and healthy.
