Steering Committee meeting for high school graduation recognition and new school year enrollment

(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, April 13, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Entrance Exams of Nghe An province had a working session on the secondary school graduation exam, high school graduation exam for the 2011-2012 school year and admission for the 2012-2013 school year.

At the meeting, the Department of Education and Training reported on the implementation of high school graduation exams and 10th grade entrance exams in 2011 and plans for organizing exams and admissions in 2012.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong gave a speech at the meeting.

Regarding this year's exam, it is basically stable as in previous years. For the high school graduation exam and high school supplementary exam, the Ministry of Education and Training has a policy of giving autonomy to organize graduation exams to the provinces, so there are many new points: The Director of the Department of Education and Training is fully responsible for organizing the exam, the exam inspection force in the province (this year there will be no inspectors from the Ministry of Education and Training). The organization of the exam marking is also directly directed by the Director of the Department, not using the cross-marking method between provinces as in previous years. Nghe An province will organize examination councils according to the types of public schools, private schools and high school supplementary schools.

At the meeting, members of the steering committee also contributed many ideas: when the Ministry of Education and Training gives autonomy to high school graduation exams to localities, the Department of Education and Training and related departments and branches must develop a plan to organize the exam in a synchronous manner, ensuring that the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.

In conclusion, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong emphasized: The viewpoint of the members of the Steering Committee for the 2012 exams is to prepare well for the exams to take place safely and seriously, without any chaos outside the exam room; to be objective in marking the exams, not to follow the graduation rate of students and make assessments that lack substance and accuracy. It is necessary to organize exam review for students, train teachers in invigilators, and pay attention to the security work outside the exam area, and not to be subjective, especially in the exam clusters of non-public schools.
