Walking along the Quynh Phuong fishing wharf is the strong stench of household waste, and flies flying everywhere. The fishing wharf has become a place for many people to dump their garbage. At the wharf gate, there are a number of seafood processing factories, wastewater flows into the sea, the stench is indescribable. Fish are dried right on the ground, covered with flies. This familiar scene has been going on for a long time, but for those who are used to it, talking to the commune chairman about this issue, he said: "Oh! People have become accustomed to living with waste".

Quynh Phuong has the Con Temple relic complex. During the recent festival days, tourists were crowded, people and vehicles jostled each other, and the demand for food and drink also increased. However, many people could not find a trash can or a public place to throw their trash. They were embarrassed to throw it on the street, so they threw it into the Mai Giang River. Around Con Temple, there are places selling mackerel and grilled fish, but the dust from vehicles flying everywhere was very unsanitary.

Not only Quynh Phuong, currently Quynh Di, Quynh Thuan, Son Hai... land is limited, population is crowded, garbage is becoming a problem for many people. Many people do not know where to throw garbage. Along the Dau canal bridge, Ngo market, river mouths, estuaries, Tien Thuy fishing port... household waste is thrown haphazardly along with wastewater from seafood processing facilities flowing into the sea, causing environmental pollution at an alarming level.

The reason is that at present, Quynh Luu only has one landfill in Ngoc Son commune but it is already overloaded. Other communes have not built centralized landfills and are still in the planning stage. Quynh Luu is a district with many craft villages, especially seafood processing villages: steaming and drying fish, processing fish sauce.... But the waste from the craft villages is affecting the craft villages themselves. Even though the products of the sea craft villages are of good quality, if they are produced in a polluted environment, it is difficult to build a brand.
