July 7th opening of the national conference to honor outstanding meritorious people

The 2012 National Conference to Honor Outstanding People with Meritorious Services will officially open in Da Nang City on the morning of July 7.

This year's conference was attended by 385 delegates who are war invalids, relatives of martyrs, heroes of the People's Armed Forces and outstanding meritorious people, representing more than 8.8 million meritorious people nationwide. There are currently nearly 1.5 million meritorious people receiving monthly preferential allowances from the State. In addition, activities to care for the lives of meritorious people are also maintained regularly. Most of the meritorious people and their relatives have enjoyed preferential policies on health care, housing improvement, incentives in education, training and vocational training, job creation, etc.

The program is jointly organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Nhan Dan Newspaper. This is an important event held annually, demonstrating the responsibility, deep affection, and special attention of the Party, State, and people towards heroes, martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs' families, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
