Many people and monks this morning, May 21st, joined the requiem mass, praying for the victims of the tragic bus crash that occurred on the night of May 17th.

Four days have passed since the horrific accident on Bridge 14, which is located on the border between Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, but it seems like everything happened just yesterday. The lives of the people around the bridge have not yet returned to normal because the trauma in their minds is too great.

By the morning of May 21, the Serepok Bridge was still crowded with passersby who had heard about the accident and stopped to look at the scene. Some people quickly lit incense sticks, the smoke still billowing as if the accident had just happened a few hours ago.

The railing that was torn apart by the car's powerful impact has been mended, but below the railing there are still bouquets of flowers, incense smoke, and pieces of the car scattered at the foot of the bridge, mixed with passengers' luggage, incense, and votive paper scattered everywhere.

Sometimes, relatives of the unfortunate victims come to the bridge with flowers, incense, and votive papers, and pray for their salvation.

Anh Minh, a high school classmate of a victim, choked up: "Although my best friend's body has been brought home for burial, in my mind, he is still lingering around the bridge, so when I pray, I hope his soul will be liberated."

The images below were taken on the morning of May 21, when the 14th spirit procession organized by Pho Minh Pagoda and Buddhists was taking place (in addition, relatives of the victims also came to pray for the deceased). The ceremony took place from 3:30 to 6:00 am, and then the body was brought back to the pagoda for a ceremony to place the spirit. Around the 13th day of the Lunar calendar, there will also be a prayer ceremony for the victims organized by the Provincial Buddhist Association.
