Strengthening propaganda and creating consensus among people on school network planning
(Baonghean.vn) -As reported, this afternoon (April 25), the Department of Culture and Society, Provincial People's Council led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Head of the Department of Culture and Society continued to have a working session with Hung Nguyen district on the implementation of the planning of the network of kindergartens and general schools in the district.
According to the report of the district leaders, up to now, Hung Nguyen has separated 1 kindergarten into 2 schools; merged 4 primary schools into 2 schools; 8 secondary schools into 4 schools. According to the planning roadmap until 2015, Hung Nguyen still has 8 primary schools that need to be merged.
The school merger has created conditions for schools and classes to expand in scale, ensuring the quantity and quality of teachers, limiting the situation of cross-subject teaching at secondary school level. The comprehensive quality of education in all grades, classes, and the number of excellent students at all levels, and the quality of admission to grade 10 have improved significantly. The investment in building school facilities is focused, ensuring long-term sustainability and meeting national standards.
However, despite the merger, some schools still have 2 campuses, causing difficulties for teachers to travel. The problem of local teacher surplus or shortage is very difficult to solve. Expanding the area, campus and investing in building facilities and equipment of some schools is still difficult in terms of funding. People still want the school to be located in their locality, so propaganda and mobilization work to implement the school merger policy is difficult.
On behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son acknowledged the district's efforts in implementing school planning. He also said that the information that the delegation gathered through monitoring in Hung Nguyen would help the Board have a practical basis to make recommendations to all levels and sectors in issuing policies related to education, contributing to improving the quality of education in the province in the following years.
