On the morning of July 10, the conference to honor collectives and individuals who have done well in the work of "repaying gratitude" and exemplary meritorious people attracted hundreds of delegates from localities in the province to attend. Putting aside the hardships of daily life, the delegates are war invalids who have overcome their fate, some in wheelchairs, some with crutches walking with difficulty, but everyone is cheerful, joy is evident in their eyes and smiles. Coming to the conference is not simply to be honored but to share and rejoice in the successes of exemplary meritorious people, former comrades; to exchange experiences together to replicate advanced models in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, as well as patriotic emulation movements, gratitude movements, contributing to political and social stability, promoting economic growth, and reducing poverty.

Being able to come and report at today's conference, veteran 4/4 Pham Hong Dao, Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Luu district, was very moved. Mr. Dao said: In 1990, with the help of relatives and local authorities, he established Hong Dao Construction Enterprise (later renamed Hong Dao Company Limited). Overcoming all initial difficulties and confusion, under his leadership, after 20 years, Hong Dao Company Limited has become a strong enterprise, with an increasingly growing reputation: 350 employees working in his company have an income of 3.7 million VND/month... For 5 consecutive years, he has always been a party member who has excellently completed his tasks. Mr. Dao confided: trying to make his family rich is also contributing to making his homeland rich, each veteran needs to know how to overcome difficulties, dare to think and dare to do, then it will always be useful for the country and society.

War invalid Tran Dinh Tho, Van Dien commune, Nam Dan district has overcome his own pain to become a good manager. An Tho confided: Returning to his hometown as a 2/4 class war invalid, a seriously ill soldier of 1/3 class, although he tried to increase production with his wife and children, poverty still clung to him; Not discouraged, he sought new directions. In 1996, the Van Dien Commune People's Credit Fund was established, and he was assigned by the Party Committee and People's Committee to be the Fund's executive director. After 16 years, from the initial 42 million, the total operating capital has now reached 87 billion VND, 2,633 members have joined to contribute capital, mobilized 79.5 billion VND and outstanding loans are 67.6 billion VND, each year contributing hundreds of millions of VND to the budget. The Fund has helped two traditional craft villages producing vermicelli and cakes to restore, many large farms, and many business lines to develop rapidly; provides loans and introduces over 1,000 workers to work abroad. In addition, the Fund also supports and builds funds for the poor and builds houses of gratitude for families with difficult policies in the commune. Over the years, wounded soldier Tran Dinh Tho has received many certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, the Governor of the State Bank, the Vietnam Veterans Association, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

There is also a 1/4 disabled veteran, Hoang Ngoc Truyen, Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town, who is good at business, creating regular jobs for 10 local workers; disabled veteran Phung Trong Nghia, Nghi Thu ward, who does ornamental and fruit tree planting services, earning over 100 million VND annually; Mr. Hoang Xuan Truc, a 4/4 disabled veteran from Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, who does seafood processing business, with a scale of 75 tons/year, revenue of 550 million VND/year, creating jobs for 5 workers - salary of 2.5 million VND/month; Mr. Dinh Van Canh, a 1/4 disabled veteran, with both legs amputated, disability rate of 91%, in Dien Chau town, doing restaurant services and mechanical production with a revenue of 500 million VND/year, creating jobs for 5 workers - children of policy families, salary of 3.5 million VND/month; Mr. Le Duc Trinh, a 3/4 disabled veteran, established Trinh Do Limited Liability Company in Dien Xuan Commune, Dien Chau District, specializing in the production of household wooden products, with a revenue of 5 billion VND/year, creating jobs for 20 workers - a salary of 4 million VND/month... Disabled veteran Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Chi Khe Commune, Con Cuong District said: "In our locality, the care of disabled veterans and meritorious people is always carried out well and completely, from policies to creating conditions for livelihood development. My family has chosen the path of development by cultivating tree varieties, helping 20 local workers have jobs with an income of 3 million VND. Attending today's conference, I am really excited and touched. I always set an example for my children to live meaningfully and compassionately, to be grateful for the contributions of those who came before and to wholeheartedly help them."

In the joy of meeting, they all called each other by the intimate name of comrade, confided about the difficulties they were facing, admired and respected the will to rise up of each other, shared with each other experiences and lessons in production and business. And above all, they affirmed and appreciated the care, help and solidarity of the Party, the State and the local government to make the life of their families and their comrades more and more beautiful and meaningful.
