(Baonghean.vn)-At 10:30 this morning, July 3, 2012, Nghe An Newspaper reporters were present at the Spinal Neurosurgery Department - Nghe An General Hospital - where Ms. Vi Thi Hoa (50 years old, residing in Pha village - Yen Khe commune - Con Cuong district) - the victim who was seriously injured by some extremists on the afternoon of July 1, 2012, at the house of Mr. Pham The Tran (Trung Huong village - Yen Khe commune), is currently being treated here.

When we arrived at the hospital bedside, Ms. Vi Thi Hoa was still in a coma, being cared for by doctors and family members. Ms. Luong Thi Hue (22 years old), Ms. Hoa's daughter, said that on the afternoon of July 1, her mother joined the commune's working group to go to Mr. Pham The Tran's house (Trung Huong village in the same commune) to persuade and explain, but was chased and beaten by some extremists among the hundreds of people gathered there until she fainted.

Ms. Vi Thi Hoa is still in a coma and is being cared for by doctors and family members.

After being treated at Con Cuong Hospital, on the night of July 1st and early morning of July 2nd, Ms. Hoa was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment due to severe injuries. Doctor Dinh Trong Khang - Deputy Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and Spine showed us Ms. Vi Thi Hoa's medical record. The CT scan of the skull clearly stated: the victim had hematoma and contusion of the left temporal-frontal parenchyma; left temporal-frontal-parietal subdural hematoma; subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral crescent hematoma.

Doctor Khang added that since being admitted to the hospital, patient Vi Thi Hoa has been in a state of drowsiness, complaining of headaches, nausea and irritation. This is a critical case, so the medical team of the Department is trying every way to save her.

Through talking to the three children of Ms. Vi Thi Hoa who are taking care of their mother in the hospital, we learned that Ms. Hoa's family's economic situation is very difficult; her eldest son was recently treated at this hospital due to a traffic accident and was discharged a month ago, but has not fully recovered.

In a tragic situation, poor family, severe injuries, not knowing what will happen to her mother - Ms. Luong Thi Hue (Mrs. Hoa's daughter) choked with tears, urgently hoping the hospital would save her mother's life and requesting authorities at all levels, functional agencies to investigate and clarify the cruel people, who violated the law, illegally invaded the area and brutally beat Ms. Hoa on the afternoon of July 1, 2012.

Affirming that Ms. Hoa is just one of many victims brutally beaten by parishioners of Quan Lang parish and some other localities, stemming from the illegal proselytizing on July 1st in Trung Huong village, Yen Khe commune - Con Cuong, many victims are currently being treated at hospitals from the province to the district hospital. Those are people from other places who gathered at Mr. Pham The Tran's house in Trung Huong village, Yen Khe commune (Con Cuong) to participate in the illegal proselytizing session; contrary to local customs and practices. Those who caused injuries and threatened the lives of Ms. Hoa as well as many other victims who are being treated at the hospital, need to be clarified soon and brought to trial before the law in a strict manner.
