Under the enemy's bombs and bullets, the soldiers of the 18th Communications Company laid wires amidst enemy fire or carried communication equipment deep into the jungle… so that news of victory could resound across the front lines, extending the heroic epic of the nation.
The unit's predecessor was the Communications Battalion stationed in My Thanh (Yen Thanh), later moving to Nghi Van. In 1974, the unit settled in Vinh City, where it remains to this day…In the glorious history of the Nghe An armed forces, Company 18 has fought alongside the Provincial Military Command through many fierce years, contributing to numerous resounding victories of the soldiers in President Ho Chi Minh's homeland.
Upholding that tradition, the unit consistently ensures excellent technical support for training, combat readiness, and other unexpected missions. Officers and soldiers always demonstrate a high sense of responsibility in maintaining and preserving weapons and technical equipment, absolutely preventing damage or deterioration. Absolute safety is ensured in all operations and traffic safety. Every month, the unit's postal service transports thousands of documents throughout the province to various agencies and units. The unit participates in transporting urgent documents over thousands of kilometers, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and vehicles. In the past year alone, there were over 10,000 radio communication sessions, receiving over 1,000 telegrams, and participating in ensuring communication for district exercises...
