Promoting the spirit of initiative and creativity of young people

(Baonghean) - Over 80 years of construction, dedication and growth, through 15 congresses, together with the youth of the whole country, with the attention and leadership of Party committees at all levels, the efforts of Youth Union chapters at all levels, generations of Nghe An youth have made worthy contributions to the cause of building and defending the homeland and the country. During the past term, Nghe An youth have constantly competed in volunteering in studying, working creatively, and taking the lead in protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety, especially having many achievements in "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh".

Promoting the advantages of nearly 1 million young people, accounting for about 47% of the labor force in the whole province, over the past 5 years, the emulation movement of studying and creative labor of Nghe An youth, typically the "Young Creativity" movement, has attracted the attention of many young people throughout the province, with many scientific topics, research works of students, including nearly a thousand innovative topics of union members, young workers, and civil servants applied in all fields of work; the movement of studying among young people outside of school is encouraged, the movement of young people helping each other develop the economy, competing in production and business takes place everywhere, the movement of helping union members and young people borrow capital to solve employment is valued by all levels of the union.

The capital for youth to help each other to do business reached over 4 billion VND, the capital borrowed by youth through the Youth Union was nearly 407 billion VND. The work of caring for and educating teenagers and children; building the Youth Union - Association - Pioneer organization and the Youth Union participating in Party building was focused on. From 2007 to 2012, 20,230 comrades were admitted to the Party; nearly 2,200 volunteer teams with more than 350,000 members participated in the volunteer movement for community life; established an additional Youth Volunteer Team for economic development; promoted the development of processing industry, trade and service activities at the Youth Volunteer Teams - Construction and Development, making an important contribution to socio-economic development, maintaining security and national defense in remote, isolated and border areas of the province.

Besides the achievements, the Youth Union and Youth Movement in Nghe An still have shortcomings and limitations. These are that the activities at some Youth Union bases still have many shortcomings and formalities; the grasp of the thoughts, feelings and aspirations of youth union members is still limited; the content of activities at many Youth Union bases is still unattractive, not attracting active participation of union members; the work of planning, training, using and rotating cadres is sometimes not timely. A part of the youth lives without ideals, is afraid of difficulties and hardships, and demands more enjoyment than their ability to contribute.

On the eve of the 16th Provincial Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Nghe An youth clearly identified their roles and responsibilities in the coming time, determined to overcome existing problems, strive to bring the Youth Union work and the youth movement of Nghe An to a new level of development, contributing to the goal of making Nghe An a fairly developed province in the Northern region, creating the foundation to basically become an industrial province and an economic and cultural center of the North Central region by 2020.

To carry out that task, Nghe An youth determined to promote specific action movements, which are: Continuing to do well the work of political and ideological education for cadres, union members, and young people, focusing on promoting the extensive and effective implementation of "Studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings". Proactively advising Party committees and authorities at all levels on youth work, focusing on improving the quality of union cadres, the quality of union branches and union members. Continuing to effectively implement Central Resolution 7 (term X) on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country", at the same time, focusing on developing a plan to implement Central Resolution 4 (term XI) on "Some urgent issues on Party building today".

Be a pioneer in absorbing and applying scientific and technological advances to production and life, especially in the fields of information technology, agriculture and rural development, creating many good production and business models to replicate in the province. Mobilize and encourage young people to practice life skills, study culture, professional expertise, especially vocational training to establish themselves early and start a business effectively, contributing positively to solving many jobs for workers, first of all for young people. Promote cultural and sports activities, actively participate in administrative reform, especially administrative procedure reform and the fight against corruption, waste, drug prevention and maintaining traffic order and safety.

In the coming term, Nghe An youth will continue to promote the tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland, under the leadership of the Party, constantly build a strong Youth Union organization, take the lead in the cause of industrialization and modernization, successfully achieve new goals in the cause of building and defending the homeland and country, contributing to building a strong homeland.
