Security agencies investigate match-fixing in the First Division
A match-fixing suggestion involving two Dong Tam Long An players has been discovered and security agencies have stepped in to investigate.
The two players who were called to suggest match-fixing were Nguyen Thanh Hai and Vo Nhat Tan of Dong Tam Long An, before the match between Long An and XM Fico Tay Ninh. The caller was identified as Nguyen Thanh Trung, a player who played for Saigon Xuan Thanh last season. The content of the call was that the caller wanted the two players Thanh Hai and Nhat Tan to play below their ability to help XM Fico Tay Ninh win the match and thereby gain points to stay in the league. If they did, each would receive 50 million VND.
The two players Thanh Hai and Nhat Tan reported this to the team's management. Dong Tam Long An Club confirmed this and reported it to the tournament's Organizing Committee. After receiving information about this match-fixing, the security agency has stepped in to investigate to clarify.
