Air strike in Yemen, 22 gunmen were killed
At least 22 gunmen were killed in clashes and airstrikes on the night of May 26 in southern Yemen.
According to local officials, 15 gunmen were killed in clashes in the northern Jaar area of Abyan province. The bodies of seven gunmen were also found in the western Jaar area after an airstrike by Yemeni military aircraft.

The Ansar al-Sharia Islamist group, which has ties to the al-Qaeda terrorist network, took control of Abyan province last year, including the capital Zinjibar.
Since earlier this month, with US support, the Yemeni government has launched a counter-offensive campaign against the Ansar al-Sharia group.
Yemeni forces are trying to regain control of key positions in Zinjibar, where at least 63 militants were killed on May 26, including some Somalis, a Yemeni military official said.
Meanwhile, US intelligence and counterterrorism officials said the force's ability to conduct operations against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which is active in Yemen, has improved significantly since President Hadi Mansour took power in Yemen./.
