On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of Uncle Ho's founding of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 - July 15, 2012), on the afternoon of July 11, at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang cordially received a delegation of former youth volunteers from across the country on the occasion of their visit to Hanoi and attending the ceremony to honor exemplary former youth volunteers who followed Uncle Ho's teachings and did good business.

President Truong Tan Sang warmly received a delegation of former youth volunteers nationwide.

In a warm and emotional atmosphere, President Truong Tan Sang and the delegates at the meeting recalled the heroic years of the time when former youth volunteers devoted their youth to the struggle for national independence and reunification and the cause of national construction. Most of them participated in the construction and protection of vital routes during the two resistance wars of the nation, contributing to the victory with the main force. In peacetime, former youth volunteers made achievements in economic development. The delegates also recommended to the President the need for more specific policies and regimes for the youth volunteer force.

Speaking to delegates representing former youth volunteers nationwide, President Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the great achievements of the youth volunteer force nationwide. In particular, in recent years, former youth volunteers in particular and the Association of Former Youth Volunteers in general have had many activities contributing to the development of the country.

The President pointed out that the exemplary former youth volunteers who were commended for following Uncle Ho's teachings and doing well in business are shining examples for society and especially today's young generation to follow. The President affirmed that the Party and State always appreciate and respect the contributions and sacrifices of the youth volunteers, pay attention to policies for those who have contributed to the revolution, and regularly take care of the work of "repaying gratitude".

Listening to the delegates' thoughts on the shortcomings in society in recent times, the President emphasized: The Party and State have recognized the shortcomings, therefore issued Resolution 4 of the Central Committee and are determined to implement it to meet the expectations of Party members and people nationwide.

The President asked delegates in each of their positions to actively contribute to the Party and the government at the grassroots level to join the entire Party in successfully implementing this important Resolution to meet the expectations of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people.

The President wished the delegates good health and hoped that the former youth volunteers nationwide would continue to promote the tradition of youth volunteers, help each other in life, and educate their children and grandchildren to contribute to building a more prosperous and beautiful country as beloved Uncle Ho always wished./.
