Provincial People's Council surveys tuition fees at Vietnam - Germany Technical Vocational College

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, June 12, the Provincial People's Council's Cultural Committee, led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, conducted a survey on the construction of tuition fees at Viet Duc Technical Vocational College. Also attending were representatives of provincial departments, agencies and branches.

Vietnam - Germany Technical Vocational College provides vocational training at 3 levels: college, intermediate and primary vocational with nearly 2,500 students studying in 06 faculties: electricity, automobile technology, mechanics, construction, driving training, basic science. Current tuition fees for each public training system: college is 250,000 VND/month/student; intermediate vocational is: 200,000 VND/month; short-term primary vocational training is 500,000 VND/month.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Vietnam - Germany Technical Vocational College proposed: Vocational training mainly consumes materials and invests in high-tech equipment. Currently, the prices of materials, fuel, and salaries are all increasing, so the school proposes that the State increase tuition fees, vocational college is 6.5 million VND/student/year; vocational intermediate is 6 million VND/student/year, to cover additional training costs and improve teaching quality. There should be a mechanism to support tuition fees for short-term vocational training and elementary vocational training.

On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son acknowledged the school's recommendations and proposals. Based on that, the Board will advise the Provincial People's Council to issue a Resolution on tuition fees for public universities, colleges, vocational high schools and vocational schools under the management of Nghe An province.
