President meets children in difficult circumstances

On the occasion of International Children's Day, May 31, at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang met with 50 children in especially difficult circumstances.

These are children visiting the capital under the 5th National Meeting with Children in Special Difficult Circumstances organized by the Vietnam Children's Fund and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

At the meeting, the children sang, played traditional musical instruments, and drew pictures for the President. They expressed to the President their private feelings during their childhood and their wish to have joy and happiness like other children.

Reporting to the President on their recent academic achievements, the children promised the President that they would strive harder to become good children and good students.

President Truong Tan Sang kindly asked about the children in difficult circumstances and expressed his joy at welcoming children from all over the country to Hanoi to join in the fun, visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and other famous landmarks of the capital.

The President affirmed that the attention of agencies and sectors is a reward for the children's efforts to study, strive and overcome their circumstances.

Praising the achievements in studying and living of the children, the President believed that in the coming time, the children and their friends will continue to try to be good and study well to not disappoint the trust of parents and the departments and organizations that have supported and helped them.

Emphasizing that the children's spirit of learning and will to succeed are shining examples for other children to follow, President Truong Tan Sang hopes that every year on International Children's Day, the Presidential Palace, where Uncle Ho once met and showed immense love to children across the country, will be the place to welcome and honor more children who have overcome difficulties to excel.

On this occasion, President Truong Tan Sang emphasized that agencies and units nationwide need to join hands to contribute, carry out many activities to support, encourage and motivate children in difficult circumstances to strive to study to become useful citizens for the country./.
