(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, April 17, the Steering Committee of Program 167 of Nghe An province had a working session with the leaders of Anh Son district on implementing housing support policies for poor households in the area.

According to Decision 167 of the Government, Anh Son district has organized the implementation for policy beneficiaries. The whole district has over 1,027 households eligible for housing support. Up to now, the whole district has built and supported 821 households. The total amount of money granted is over 17.2 billion VND, of which the budget capital is over 8.3 billion, the loan capital from the social policy bank is nearly 9 billion VND. In the second phase, Anh Son was reviewed for 91 more households, and completed the construction for 74 households. Thanks to the good implementation of propaganda work and synchronous direction from the district to the commune, the subjects under Decision 167 of Anh Son understand how to do a good job of eliminating temporary houses. Up to now, the whole district has 99 households that have not yet built houses according to Decision 167, the reason is that among the beneficiaries, many households are in especially difficult circumstances, and their families do not have enough conditions to build.

At the working session, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team highly appreciated the efforts of Anh Son district in directing the elimination of temporary housing for poor households according to Decision 167 of the Government. The Team also pointed out some limitations in the direction of housing support for poor households. In the coming time, the Team requested Anh Son district to speed up the implementation progress so that 116 households eligible for poor support can benefit from the policy. All levels of the sector from district to commune need to join hands to promote propaganda work to complete the plan to build houses for poor households according to Decision 167 of the Government before June 2012.
