(Baonghean)On July 19, in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, the Petition Committee under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in coordination with the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly organized a workshop on "Improving the effectiveness of supervising the settlement of voters' petitions on the budget sector".
Attending the workshop were leaders representing the National Assembly's committees; leaders of the National Assembly delegation, deputies of the 13th National Assembly, representatives of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, and specialized leaders of the committees of the People's Councils of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong provinces...
With 11 topics, the Workshop created conditions for National Assembly deputies, People's Council deputies, officials of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council at the local level and officials directly managing finance and budget, experts, scientists to exchange experiences, assess the current situation, including the legal mechanism on strengthening the role and responsibility of elected representatives and elected agencies in deciding and examining the State budget, improving the effectiveness of monitoring the implementation and resolving voters' recommendations on the budget sector; Fiscal transparency and publicity as well as the role of the people in deciding and monitoring budget revenue and expenditure in Vietnam today.
The delegates exchanged, discussed, analyzed and clarified the causes of the achieved results, existing limitations, lessons learned in the management of State Finance and Budget; proposed solutions to continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of management and supervision of Finance and Budget activities of elected representatives and elected bodies in Vietnam, in line with the process of innovation of the activities of the National Assembly of Vietnam.
