To further promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example and to commemorate the 113th anniversary of his birth, the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, in coordination with the Border Guard Command and relevant departments and agencies, organized the competition "Uncle Ho with Ethnic Minorities; Ethnic Minorities with Beloved Uncle Ho". The competition aims to further publicize Uncle Ho's love for ethnic minorities and their respect for him, thereby fostering the tradition of unity and striving for progress among the people.

The contest is open to all Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in Vietnam and abroad; political, economic, cultural, and social organizations; armed forces units; the general public; and foreigners. Entries should include all documents, images, sketches, narratives, articles, and stories about President Ho Chi Minh's life, activities, work, meetings, conversations, and visits in ethnic minority and mountainous regions. All materials must be accurate, truthful, include dates and locations, and be scientifically based. The contest will conclude and awards will be presented on May 19, 2013.
