Construction of the Phan Dang Luu Monument began

(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the program to celebrate the 110th birthday of comrade Phan Dang Luu, this morning, May 4, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district (Nghe An) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Phan Dang Luu Monument and the Central Park in Yen Thanh district town, with the participation of central and Nghe An provincial leaders.

The investment project to build the Phan Dang Luu Monument and the Central Park, invested by the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district, was approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province on June 30, 2011, in Decision No. 2537/QD.UBND, including the construction of the monument and a number of corresponding construction items such as the road connecting Yen Thanh town to the Phan Dang Luu memorial site in Hoa Thanh commune, creating a complex of architectural and landscape works to introduce the life and career of the typical revolutionary predecessor; at the same time, serving the organization of cultural, sports and entertainment activities of the people.

The construction items at the central park and the statue of comrade Phan Dang Luu include a 2,280m2 campus; the statue is made of natural stone. The total investment of the project is 104,232,000,000 VND; the construction capital comes from the central budget supporting the program, especially important cultural and historical projects, the provincial budget, the district budget, mobilizing sponsorship from organizations and individuals and mobilizing other legal sources. The project is expected to be completed after 48 months from the date of investment decision.
