(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, September 28, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council led by Mr. Tran Van Mao - Standing Member of the People's Council, conducted a survey on the situation of receiving people and handling complaints and denunciations of citizens in Vinh city. Also participating in the survey delegation were representatives of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Inspectorate.

Vinh City is the unit with a large number of petitions, accounting for 31.02% of the total number of complaints and denunciations in the province, of which up to 95% of the petitions are related to land, including many complicated, prolonged and slow-to-resolve cases.

At the survey, the Vinh City People's Committee clarified the causes as well as the guiding viewpoints and difficulties in the process of resolving citizens' complaints and denunciations. On that basis, it recommended that the Provincial People's Committee unify the policy of resolving citizens' complaints and denunciations at each level, and should not assign the city to review resolved cases, to avoid inconsistencies in handling citizens' complaints.

Speaking at the survey, Mr. Tran Van Mao requested Vinh city to pay attention to measures and solutions to improve the effectiveness of handling petitions. That is, it is necessary to seek direction and coordination from the province and other sectors, and at the same time pay attention to using a team of experts and consultants in handling citizens' petitions. Periodically organize listening to reports on the work of receiving citizens and handling petitions, both promptly resolving outstanding issues and strengthening the authority and responsibility of those directly involved in this work. Review cases under its authority to have a direction for a definitive handling.
