After 2 days at Daewoo Hotel - Hanoi, the 4th Congress of the Vietnam Olympic Committee concluded successfully when recognizing the advantages and limitations of Vietnamese sports as well as evaluating the potential for developing the Olympic movement in our country. To adapt to the new trend, the Vietnam Olympic Committee elected the new executive committee, president, vice presidents, general secretary and standing committee.
On the morning of September 23, the leadership of the Vietnam Olympic Committee was officially launched in an optimistic atmosphere, determined to bring the country's sports to new heights. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh became the new President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee and will be assisted by 8 vice presidents, 1 general secretary and a 29-member standing committee.
During the Congress, the Vietnam Olympic Committee conducted a serious assessment and planned to carry out tasks in the coming time. Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, term IV - Hoang Vinh Giang, spoke at the congress: "If Vietnam is awarded the right to host ASIAD in 2019, the term IV, with the term from 2012 to 2016, will play an important role in helping Vietnamese sports to be well prepared both professionally and mentally."
In addition, the Vietnam Olympic Committee also aims to improve the achievements of Vietnamese sports when participating in international sports arenas.
