India: Horrific accident, 60 casualties

At least 29 people were killed and 31 others injured in a horrific traffic accident in the northern state of Haryana, a senior Indian police official said on July 30, Xinhua news agency reported.

"The incident took place when a passenger bus rammed into a car coming from the opposite direction at high speed on the Rajgarh-Hisar road near Bhiwani. Both drivers lost control and collided with each other at around 8:30 am local time. Among the dead were 10 women and three children," the official said.

India has ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident.

On the same day, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was shocked and expressed his grief over the serious accident, and announced free treatment for the injured./.
