US track hero Ryan Lochte has been warned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and threatened with being stripped of his London 2012 Olympic gold medal after Lochte attempted to show off during the medal ceremony.

After winning the gold medal in the men's 400m individual medley, the American swimmer expressed his desire to wear a cape-like outfit in red, blue and white (the three colors of the American flag) while standing on the podium. However, this request was immediately opposed by the IOC, which threatened to strip Lochte of his gold medal if he wore it.

It's not hard to see that Lochte is a real player as he sports gems on his teeth to stand out.

Meanwhile, Lochte's teammate and swimmer Michael Phelps underperformed in the men's 400m medley. Despite dominating the men's 400m medley at the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics, Phelps disappointed when he only finished in 4th place with a time of 4 minutes 9 seconds 28./.
