Kim Jong-Un to visit Iran for Non-Aligned Movement summit
South Korea's Yonhap and Ariang news agencies reported on August 22 that North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is planning to visit Iran next week, which will be his first foreign trip since taking power last December.
A spokesman for the organizing committee of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Iran confirmed that Mr. Kim will attend the meeting of 120 member countries of the movement, taking place from August 26 to 31.

The US NBC network commented that this is also another sign of leader Kim Jong-Un's open policy, which is very different from his father, the late leader Kim Jong-Il.
In recent times, Pyongyang has continuously taken steps to demonstrate its desire to reform its economy and social structure.
Since July, Mr. Kim has begun to appear more in public with the woman later announced as his wife, Ms. Ri Sol Ju.
Last week, Kim Jong-Un's uncle Jang Song Taek also visited China, meeting with the country's top leaders, leading to speculation that Pyongyang has decided to adopt the reform model that China has adopted over the past three decades.
However, Kim Jong-Un's first foreign trip to Iran (if any) will also cause some concerns from Western countries, because Iran is being isolated by the US and its allies over the nuclear issue, while North Korea has also declared that it will become a nuclear power./.
