(Baonghean) -Over the past 20 years, with gradual growth and improvement, Nguyen Trai Secondary School has affirmed its leading position in the educational development of Tan Ky district.

Formerly known as Nguyen Trai Gifted Secondary School, Nguyen Trai Secondary School was established on October 15, 1992 under Decision No. 67/QD-UBND dated October 5, 1992 of Tan Ky District People's Committee. From the 2000-2001 school year, the school was renamed Nguyen Trai Secondary School, a key high-quality unit of Tan Ky District. Every year, the school is the place to select and nurture excellent students in 22 communes and towns across the district. In the first 3 years of establishment, due to lack of location, the school had to rent or borrow classrooms from many units for teaching. However, with the high sense of responsibility of the teaching staff, the quality of teaching and learning at the school was still maintained. From the 1995-2000 school year, the school received a new location left by Nghe An Mountainous Pedagogical School with an area of ​​12,772m2, poor facilities with 3 rows of grade 4 classrooms and 4 dormitories built since 1976. However, with the efforts to overcome difficulties of teachers and generations of students, especially the attention and support of local authorities, the quality of education of the school has been increasingly improved.

In the period 2000 - 2007, Nguyen Trai Secondary School was supported by Bac A Bank to build 8 high-rise classrooms and a system of level 4 houses used as offices, libraries, equipment, etc., thanks to which, the quality of education in this period was significantly improved. In the period 2007 - 2012, the school built 8 new high-rise classrooms, 10 level 4A dormitories for teachers and students; combined 2,650m2 of the school yard with self-locking hexagonal bricks; completely leveled the 4,320m2 physical education yard... Purchased additional equipment, computers, projectors, office furniture, ensuring all conditions for teaching - education - living for teachers and students. In the past 5 years, the school has had 1,226 students achieving excellent results at the district level, 268 students achieving excellent results at the provincial level and especially 12 students achieving excellent results at the national level (5 Bronze Medals, 7 honorary degrees), 1 Kim Dong Award, 1 national hero of a thousand good deeds; 21 students passed the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and 25 students entered Vinh University High School for the Gifted. The teaching staff has also improved their professional qualifications, with 126 teachers achieving excellent results at the district level, 25 teachers achieving excellent results at the provincial level, 36 teachers achieving the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, 5 teachers achieving the title of Emulation Fighter at the provincial level, 3 foreign language teachers (English) with international qualifications. The school has been an excellent worker at the provincial level for 3 consecutive years (from 2009 to 2012). The school has met national standards since the 2008-2009 school year. In recognition of the school's efforts over the past 20 years, in the 2010-2011 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded a Certificate of Merit; in the 2011-2012 school year, the Vietnam Education Trade Union awarded an Emulation Flag; and in the 2011-2012 school year, the Prime Minister was recommended to award a Certificate of Merit.

Over the past 20 years, Nguyen Trai Secondary School has trained 1,975 students who have graduated, entered specialized and non-specialized schools in the province, universities and grown up to work in key industries nationwide. Generations of students leaving this school have studied, strived and asserted themselves in many fields. Many students of the school have now become key officials in many agencies and localities nationwide. Many students have pursued Pedagogy and returned to become teachers, to continue striving for the development of the school, working side by side with teachers and colleagues, completing the career of educating people for the future. Teachers Tran Thi Thanh Huyen (Geography teacher), Le Thi Hong Hanh (Chemistry, Biology teacher), Vo Thi Nhung... are students of the school, after many years of teaching have achieved many high achievements, are excellent teachers at the provincial and district levels. Among the 39 teachers currently, there are many who have been with the school to contribute their intelligence over the past 20 years, such as teacher Luu Van Liem (Math teacher - Head of the Natural Science Group), teacher Le Thi Sinh (Deputy Party Secretary - Head of the Social Science Group), teacher Tran Thi Ho Ly (Vice Principal - Literature teacher).
