According to the organizers, VIIF 2012 is a traditional, prestigious, and effective international trade promotion event in Vietnam's industrial sector, making a positive contribution to the innovation and development of Vietnam's economy in general and the industrial sector in particular over the past 20 years.

In particular, this year, VIIF 2012 is being held against the backdrop of a global and Vietnamese economic recession, with various economic sectors, including industry and especially the business community, facing numerous difficulties and challenges in order to survive.

This is the biggest challenge for exhibition activities, as businesses have to minimize spending on promotional activities. Therefore, the effort to attract businesses to participate in this year's fair has been difficult, with some traditional domestic and international clients either not participating or participating on a small scale.

According to the organizers, VIIF has a total exhibition area of 4,500 square meters. For domestic businesses, besides the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and some equipment manufacturers, the state-owned industrial sector lacks key industrial production units, but instead features trading companies and importers of industrial machinery and equipment.

The international section, with an exhibition area of approximately 2,000m2, mainly features businesses from China, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Russia, and several ASEAN countries.

The products participating in this fair are diverse and of high quality, focusing mainly on equipment and technology in light industries such as component manufacturing, mechanical tools, consumer machinery, processing industries, pharmaceuticals, textiles, etc.
