Welcoming the delegation were Comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau reported on some of the characteristics of Nghe An province and the friendly cooperation activities between Nghe An and Laos in recent times. As a province with more than 430 km of border adjacent to 3 provinces of Laos, Nghe An has had many activities, meetings, exchanges, and coordination of border security protection and economic development with the 3 provinces of Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan, and Poli Kham Xay every quarter and every year. Recently, during the visit and working trip of Nghe An province's leaders to Laos, the Nghe An delegation donated 3 million USD to Laos to build a cultural house. Especially in recent months, Nghe An has welcomed many delegations from Laos and provinces sharing the border with Nghe An to exchange culture, arts, and sports in Nghe An, sponsor free student training programs for Laos, and invest in many socio-economic development projects in Laos.
