Swordfish sinks fishing boat, 13 fishermen from Binh Dinh rescued

According to information from the Binh Dinh Border Guard's combat duty, at 9:00 a.m. on October 15, 13 fishermen on fishing boat BD 95173-TS that was in distress in the Truong Sa sea area were rescued by a fishing boat captained by Mr. Do Thanh Long (Hoai Huong, Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh).

Previously, at 3:00 a.m. the same day, fishing boat BD 95173-TS with 13 fishermen, captained by Mr. Le Do (39 years old, in Kim Giao Trung village, Hoai Hai commune, Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh), while fishing for tuna 25 nautical miles west of Song Tu Tay island (Truong Sa archipelago of Vietnam), was hit by a swordfish on the right side, causing the water to break, the boat sank, leaving only the bow floating. The captain sent a distress signal.

Immediately after receiving the news, Binh Dinh Border Guard reported to the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, the Border Guard Command, and notified nearby fishing boats to rescue the 13 fishermen on the distressed boat.
