(Baonghean) - Wedding is a traditional cultural beauty of the nation, an indispensable ritual in the important day of every person's life. In recent years, organizing weddings according to a cultural lifestyle has been of interest to Party committees and authorities. Youth Unions at all levels have actively promoted among youth union members to organize weddings according to a cultural lifestyle. However, weddings in rural areas are still an expensive ritual, both for the wedding organizer and the invitees. Some Party committees and authorities rarely mention the issue of building a civilized lifestyle in weddings, or only speak in general terms without proposing specific solutions or sanctions.
The trend of organizing lavish weddings for 1-2 days is increasing. Many weddings have many banquets and guests, with the minimum number of guests having to invite from 400 to 500. Many people complain that attending weddings is like going to a "show", some days each person has to attend 2-3 weddings; attending weddings is considered as going to "eat expensive street food", some weddings invite guests to eat from 8-9 am. Some localities organize weddings in a chaotic manner, young people dress up in a silly way, dance in all kinds of ways, then drink alcohol, turn up the speakers at high volume almost all night. Many weddings take place quickly, the host and guests treat each other as strangers, except for a time of clinking glasses, or shaking hands to say goodbye. Some officials working at the commune level said that working at the grassroots level is very hard now, weddings, funerals, death anniversaries, housewarmings, everything is invited, you have to go, while the salary is not enough to cover the expenses of mourning and happiness. Currently, some officials, civil servants, including leaders who are paid by the State and need to be exemplary in organizing weddings according to cultural lifestyle, are not doing so well.
The wedding season is approaching, the choice of traditional wedding organization, following the old style with a lavish feast or simple according to the new lifestyle is still a problem for many people. I think that the Party committees and authorities need to pay attention to this issue, leaders at all levels need to be really exemplary in organizing weddings for their children, should limit the number of guests, choose the form of sending wedding announcements after the wedding ceremony, so as not to bother everyone. Is that a good way to do both for the wedding organizer and the person who is informed of the good news? If leaders act like that, surely many lower-level officials will review themselves and that is also a way to propagate and mobilize people to better implement the new cultural lifestyle in weddings.
