Organizing deltoid fibrosis surgery for poor children

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, July 26, at Vinh Orthopedic Surgery - Rehabilitation Center, a ceremony was held to receive medical equipment donations from OUTREACH (Australia) and to open a deltoid fibrosis surgery campaign for poor children in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Rehabilitation for children with deltoid fibrosis

This time, representatives of OUTREACH handed over a set of medical equipment worth a total of 18,000 USD to Vinh Orthopedic Surgery - Rehabilitation Center. The set of medical equipment has been installed in the surgical area, including tools such as operating tables, surgical lights and patient vital function monitors. On average, Vinh Orthopedic Surgery - Rehabilitation Center performs 500 - 1,000 surgeries for children with various disabilities each year. However, most of the medical equipment is currently old and has not been invested in new purchases. Therefore, with the support of OUTREACH, it will create favorable conditions for the unit in its professional activities.

Number of children operated on this time

On this occasion, Vinh Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Center also organized free surgeries for 100 poor children with delta muscle fibrosis in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. All surgery costs were sponsored by OUTREACH, with an average of 1.4 million VND for each surgery. In addition to the surgery costs, the children were also supported with food and travel expenses. OUTREACH also donated 100 wheelchairs to poor disabled children in Nghe An province.

It is known that this year, Vietnam Outreach Organization donated 200 wheelchairs to disabled children and supported free surgery for 200 cases of deltoid fibrosis for disadvantaged children in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.
