During his high school years, Huu Phong had an impressive academic record. Throughout his schooling from grades 1 to 12, he consistently achieved excellent academic results, winning numerous awards. Even in grade 4, Phong won second prize in the district-level excellent student competition, and second prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in grade 5. In grade 9, Huu Phong won second prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in Physics. At Quynh Luu I High School, Nguyen Huu Phong consistently led his class (12A2), ranking among the top students in the school. In grade 11, he won second prize in the provincial-level Physics Olympiad.
In the 2012 university and college entrance exams, Nguyen Huu Phong passed the Hanoi University of Pharmacy with 27.5 points (Mathematics 9.0, Physics 9.0, Chemistry 9.5) and the Hanoi Medical University with 26 points.
That achievement is the result of passion and highly effective self-learning. Phong said that he only studied at school and did not attend any extra classes. According to Phong, self-learning is the best way to master and accumulate knowledge, and to delve deeply into key content. The most important aspect of self-learning is mental preparation, such as having strong willpower, high determination, patience, and diligence. When encountering difficult problems that he couldn't solve on his own, Phong asked his teachers for guidance and clarification. To learn effectively on his own, he collected many reference books. The internet was also a very important tool that helped him learn effectively.
During his studies, Phong and his friends formed a study group. The members explored challenging problems, created their own exercises, and then discussed them with each other to find effective solutions and new methods. In addition, Phong often played sports to improve his health and maintain a lively and energetic personality.
Having been accepted into two prestigious universities, Nguyen Huu Phong chose Hanoi Medical University with the hope that he could help many patients, especially the poor, in the future. We wish him even more success in his university studies and that he will fulfill his aspirations in the future.
