"Living in life, you need to have a heart..."

The life of each of us must follow the laws of creation, the flow of life just flows, sweeping everything away to dust. But there is one thing that will remain forever, that is love - something we will give and receive. However, many young people today are losing that precious value. They seem to be indifferent to the pain of others, indifferent to injustice or social evils; indifferent, or in other words, their hearts no longer love.

(Baonghean)The life of each of us must follow the laws of creation, the flow of life just flows, sweeping everything away to dust. But there is one thing that will remain forever, that is love - something we will give and receive. However, many young people today are losing that precious value. They seem to be indifferent to the pain of others, indifferent to injustice or social evils; indifferent, or in other words, their hearts no longer love.

We were shocked by the video with scenes of female students fighting, stripping and tearing their friends' clothes posted on websites that were disrespectful to teachers and parents... However, what makes us even more heartbroken and surprised is that when witnessing the above incidents, most of you are indifferent and do not react. In fact, many of you, instead of stopping them, wholeheartedly encourage those unethical acts by filming and spreading them on the Internet as a form of entertainment... But that is not all. The sad truth is that the murder situation is getting "younger" when many murderers are from the 8x and 9x generations, the most prominent of which is the cold-blooded killer Le Van Luyen, who heartlessly took away 3 lives... Thus, it can be seen that indifference is not a crime, but it is the path that leads to crime.

The question is: Why are young people apathetic? It would be unfair to just accuse young people without considering them from many angles. In addition to the core cause of lifestyle, degradation, and deviation in character and personality, there are many responsibilities of schools, families, and society that need to be discussed. It is time to review the content, methods, and forms of education in schools when cramming knowledge is put first and foremost, where is the age-old view of "Learning manners before learning knowledge" of our ancestors? Not only do students have to study the main subjects, most of the remaining time they have to go to extra classes, exam preparation centers, etc., leaving almost no time for extracurricular activities, social activities, and charity.

Another equally important reason is the responsibility of parents. Have parents ever asked themselves whether they have taught their children how to live, whether they understand their children? Perhaps, they have unintentionally become their children's alarm clocks, reminding them to do things. All day long, they are told the same thing: they have to do this and that and need to go to every extra class to... grow up! And how many parents are willing to spend time listening to their children confide, complain or discuss issues that they consider "important, profound". Thus, the apathy of children may begin with the "apathy" of adults towards issues that young people are interested in. Besides the above reasons, another factor is the development of the Internet and social networks such as Facebook, Tweeter, etc., which have created virtual worlds, drawing young people in and making them indifferent to the real life around them...

A psychologist has compared apathy to "mental cancer", causing many unpredictable consequences. To fight this disease, first of all, there needs to be changes in personality education for students. Along with that, there needs to be understanding and close attention from adults, spend time with your children, grandchildren and students, let them understand what love and responsibility are. Adults will be the mirror for young people to look at. And young people, each of you should sing the song of musician Trinh Cong Son: "Living in life, you need to have a heart..."!
