67 years ago (September 2, 1945), at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Historian Duong Trung Quoc affirmed: “The event of September 2nd, President Ho Chi Minh declared independence, established the democratic republic, not only ended the fascist and French colonial regimes but also ended the feudal regime, bringing Vietnam to a new historical period - that of the Democratic Republic - so that from the strength of an independent nation, we can continue the resistance war to defend the country and protect the achievements of the revolution”.
