Que Phong Women's Union focuses on poor women and children

(Baonghean.vn) -Responding to the emulation movement "Towards poor women and children" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union to welcome the 11th National Women's Congress, the Que Phong District Women's Union launched an emulation movement to respond to 14/14 communes and towns in the area.

Immediately after receiving the guidance document from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union on the implementation of the "Special Emulation Project" for poor women and children in 2012 in the province; issuing plan No. 03/KH-BTV dated February 16, 2012, organizing the implementation of the Directive for all levels of the Union to actively mobilize cadres and women members in the whole district to contribute to the implementation.



Awarding 14 scholarships to outstanding poor students who overcome difficulties and study well
of 14 communes and towns

With the content of the campaign "Supporting the construction of shelters for poor women and giving scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties", the movement has received positive responses from all levels of the Women's Union, the support of local Party committees, authorities, departments and organizations in the area. Up to now, the district's Women's Unions have raised 75.3 million VND to support the construction of 2 new "Shelters of Love" for two member families with especially difficult circumstances, namely Vi Thi Thuc in Dan 1 village, Tien Phong commune and Loc Thi Minh in Na Lan village, Chau Thon commune with the amount of 20 million VND/house; repairing and upgrading 5 temporary houses with a total amount of 21.3 million VND; organizing the awarding of 14 scholarships to outstanding poor students who overcome difficulties and study well in 14 communes and towns, each worth 1 million VND.

This is one of the meaningful activities demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and kindness of the Women's Union at all levels. At the same time, it is also a social activity contributing to the poverty reduction goal of the district.
