Quang Binh Border Guard rescues many fishing boats in distress

In Quang Binh province, there is moderate to heavy rain and rough seas, affecting fishing boats operating at sea and needing assistance.

At 12:30 noon on September 14, fishing boat QB 3846 TS, operated by Mr. Nguyen Van Tai in Dien Phuc, Quang Phuc commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, was on its way to shore when its engine died 20 nautical miles east of Gianh estuary.

Upon receiving the news, the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Gianh Port Border Guard Station to maintain contact with the distressed ship and directed Squadron 2 to organize a rescue. However, due to big waves and strong winds, Squadron 2's ship could not leave.

The Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province reported to the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of Quang Binh province to request SAR 274 ship of Search and Rescue Center of Region 2, on duty at Gianh Port, to come to the rescue.

Senior Lieutenant Phan Quang Thanh, operations assistant, Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command, said: The ship in distress reported that it could fix itself and was heading to shore, but the waves were big and there was a risk of sinking, so the SAR 274 ship was waiting at Hon La port and maintaining communication to support them when necessary.

Also on the afternoon of September 14, fishing boat QB 92585 of Mr. Ho Van Thang, from Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh, was fishing at sea when the engine died and there was no communication.


After receiving the news from Mr. Ho Van Thuy's ship, the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command directed Ly Hoa Border Guard Station to keep in contact with Mr. Thuy's ship and request help for the ship in distress./.
