(Baonghean.vn) - The children's library is located in the Nghe An Provincial Library building. The reading room walls are painted with colorful scenes, the interior is designed eye-catchingly, the books are diverse and rich, suitable for children's psychology, perception, and interests, attracting children, and is a place to nurture the soul and love of books for the "young shoots".

At 8am, we arrived at Nghe An Provincial Library. In contrast to the quiet atmosphere outside, inside, there were many students in the reading room reserved for children. The reading room was located on the first floor, a space truly dedicated to children. The walls were painted with colorful, eye-catching landscape paintings. One wall was covered with a giraffe stretching its neck to the sky. Around the walls were neatly arranged bookshelves, divided by topic for children to choose from. These could be literature books with Vietnamese folk tales or Greek mythology vividly described through comics. Or books on natural sciences, popular culture, history, etc. Having chosen their favorite books, children could comfortably sit and read at small, colorful tables and chairs or sit on blocks arranged by librarians right in the reading room. The layout and arrangement are suitable for children's psychology, along with the airy and safe space, so many children come here to read books, especially during the summer.

Cao Khanh Huyen (11 years old, living at 73 Nguyen Van Cu) said: After going to extra classes, I often go to the library to read books. There are more good books here than at home, and I have many friends, so I like it very much. Every week, my parents usually take me here to read books 3 times. Some weeks, I come here every day to read books.

At another table, 10-year-old Tran Thao Van was attentively reading a Greek mythology comic book. She said: My house is at 12 Ly Thuong Kiet, but every week I ride my bike to the library to read books at least three times. Here I can read and play with friends, so I like it very much!

Children attentively read fairy tales in a space decorated both modernly and child-friendly.

According to the library's data, from the beginning of 2012 until now, 1,600 children's cards (including reading cards and borrowing cards) have been registered, this number is double the number of cards made in the whole year of 2011. On average, about 150 young readers come every day.

Ms. Ho Thi Thuy - Librarian, said: The children's library was established in 2005 but has not attracted readers before. However, since June this year, the library has changed the decoration and interior arrangement to suit children's psychology according to the New Library Equipment Project, so many children come to read books. In the coming time, the children's library will open more music rooms and art rooms to attract children to come to the library, the goal is for the library to become a learning and entertainment space for children, and parents can also feel secure when bringing their children to the library.

Currently, the library is open from Monday to Sunday, during office hours, only closed on the 5th of every month. Mr. Tran Nhat Quoc (living in Tan Phuc apartment building, Vinh Tan), whose 10-year-old daughter often comes to read books at the library, said: The activities at the library are very good. I often take my daughter here to read books and feel secure letting her stay in the reading room to go to work. The children have a really interesting space to develop their souls, and their parents can also work with peace of mind, especially during the summer when the children are on vacation from school.

Currently, there are many types of comics and games for children with unhealthy content floating around the market that are "poisoning" the souls of children. Therefore, the attraction of children's libraries has been and will contribute to nurturing the souls of children when they are immersed in the space of fairy tales with high educational value, from here will contribute to forming a generation that knows how to love books, love reading culture which has been fading at an alarming rate in today's young generation.
