To keep “Individualism” from exceeding the prescribed level
(Baonghean) - In every person there is a certain expression of "individualism" and it is not always possible to maintain one's integrity.
In every person there is a certain manifestation of “individualism” and it is not always possible to maintain one’s courage. There are many cadres who, when fighting to protect the right and the true, fight very enthusiastically, not afraid of danger or loss; that is, they have made great contributions in the fight to eliminate evil. However, when they are recognized by the collective, even honored, and assigned important positions in the public apparatus, they become complacent, arrogant, bureaucratic, not self-conscious, and even violate regulations and rules...
There are also cadres and party members who, when they were still ordinary employees, completed their assigned tasks very well, meeting the standards of cadres and civil servants. But when they were promoted, appointed, and had the right to decide on certain issues of their units and localities, they "fell" into the spiral of embezzlement and corruption...
Or there is a comrade who is quite good at his profession and has received formal training, but he is not recognized by the collective, and his leadership and management are not effective... The main reason is that he always thinks of himself as intelligent, superior, and needs to be "different", such as: He thinks that he often does not participate in activities fully and on time; refuses to listen to anyone's comments or reminders; deliberately puts forth viewpoints and opinions that are contrary to the development trends and operational situation of the unit...
The above phenomena, in general, all come from “individualism”. The problem is that we must be determined and courageous to prevent and repel this dangerous “disease”. To cure the disease, we must first detect and point out which cadres and party members are “infected”. At the same time, we must also realize and clearly point out to our comrades that they are not ignorant, or are not allowed to be ignorant of the regulations and the things that cadres and party members are not allowed to do and should not do. In fact, it is because they do not cultivate good morality, do not struggle to train themselves to overcome themselves, to overcome the so-called “individualism”. Because around those who have degraded morality, lifestyle and qualities, there are still the majority of good cadres and party members who know how to cultivate morality and control themselves, maintain revolutionary qualities and do not easily make mistakes.
Therefore, in order for the cadres and party members to become increasingly clean and strong, it is imperative to push back “individualism”. To do so, first of all, each cadre and party member must cultivate and train themselves to have a strong will and avoid being influenced by the outside. In the process of living and working, no one can avoid making mistakes and shortcomings. The important thing is whether the individual dares to admit their shortcomings to the organization so that the organization can make specific suggestions to help the individual improve and live better. President Ho Chi Minh once reminded, “Being afraid of losing your prestige and dignity and not daring to self-criticize is a big mistake. Shortcomings are like illnesses. Criticism is like taking medicine. Being afraid of criticism is like having an illness but hiding it. Not daring to take medicine. Letting the illness get worse and worse, if you don’t die, you will “just drag yourself along”.
Uncle Ho also pointed out: "A person who has shortcomings today may not necessarily have shortcomings tomorrow. A person who has not had shortcomings today may not necessarily have shortcomings tomorrow." Therefore, each cadre and party member must be aware and understand that self-criticism and criticism must be done regularly and continuously; it is a normal thing to help us prevent and cure diseases and eliminate and remove "malignant tumors". At the same time, cadres and party members must determine: as cadres and party members, they are always attached to their organization. Accept the inspection and supervision of the organization so that the organization can remind, encourage and protect them to promptly correct shortcomings, become good cadres and party members, without making mistakes, without being harmed or injured. Never think that you are bigger than the organization.
To prevent "Individualism" from exceeding the prescribed level, leading to violations, each organization, each individual cadre and party member must regularly, seriously, frankly and sincerely conduct self-criticism and criticism.
