Finalize training and friendly match schedule before AFF Cup
Official information, VFF Board of Directors has finalized the training schedule and friendly matches to prepare for the 2012 AFF Cup regional tournament for the national team.
According to the latest plan, all members called up to the national team will gather in early September. After a week of training, the Vietnamese national team will fly to Kuala Lumpur to play a friendly match with the host team Malaysia on September 11.
Four days later, the entire team and the coaching staff of the Vietnamese team will continue to move to Jakarta (Indonesia) to prepare for a friendly match with the national team of this country on September 15.

One week after returning to Vietnam, the national team will have a friendly match, scheduled to take place at My Dinh Stadium with Indonesia on September 22. Immediately after this match, the whole team will continue their training trip in Japan from the beginning of October. This is probably the only change in the training and friendly match schedule before the AFF Cup 2012 because previously, the VFF planned to send the whole team to train in Europe and specifically Slovakia.
The Vietnamese team will finish their training session in Japan and return home one week before their first match at the VFF Cup against Turkmenistan on October 24.
After 2 days of rest, coach Phan Thanh Hung and his team will enter the second match of the tournament against the Iranian Olympic team. On October 28, the Vietnamese team will play the final match of the VFF Cup against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
After the end of the pre-AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 tournament, Coach Phan Thanh Hung and his students will have a friendly match against Malaysia at My Dinh Stadium on November 3.
The group stage matches in Group A of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup will be held in Thailand from November 24 to December 1, 2012. In this group, in addition to the host team Thailand, the Vietnamese team will also have to face two other teams, the Philippines and the winner of the qualifying round taking place from November 5 to 13./.
