After losing to Tottenham, Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson decided to remove two veterans Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes from the list of 21 players participating in the match with CFR Cluj in the second round of the Champions League group stage.

Another experienced player, Michael Carrick, was also left out.

With Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young both injured, the six midfielders Sir Alex will bring to Romania will be Darren Fletcher, Jesse Lingard, Nick Powell, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Tom Cleverley and Shinji Kagawa.

The Scottish strategist was forced to make the above decision to help refresh MU's midfield as well as help the "Red Devils" play more explosively.

Up front, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez will be the names Sir Alex trusts.

Before entering the decisive match with CFR Cluj, Rooney warned his teammates not to be complacent if they do not want to repeat the mistakes of last season: "The Champions League is not like the Premier League. If you are complacent and do not try hard in just one match, you can be eliminated. That happened to us last season. We need to try to win every match to get the best position and soon pass the group stage"./.

List of 21 registered players of MU:

De Gea, Lindegaard; Buttner, Evans, Evra, Ferdinand, M.Keane, Rafael, Wootton; Anderson, Cleverley, Fletcher, Lingard, Nani, Powell, Tunnicliffe; Hernandez, Kagawa, Rooney, van Persie, Welbeck.
