Conference on implementing the plan for exploiting the Northern fish season

(Baonghean,vn) -This morning, October 12, in Nghe An, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to summarize the southern fish crop and deploy the northern fish crop.

The conference was attended by representatives of the agricultural sector of 11 northern provinces and cities (from Thua Thien Hue and beyond). The conference was chaired by comrades: Vu Van Tam - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.

The conference heard a report on the exploitation activities of the southern fish season. In the first 9 months of the year, the national exploitation output reached 1,551.8 thousand tons, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period in 2011. Of which, the 2012 southern fish season alone reached 1,425.6 thousand tons, an increase of 3.6% compared to the plan. In Nghe An, the southern fish season output reached more than 62 thousand tons, reaching more than 207% compared to the plan, 109% compared to the whole year plan; 2,408 licenses for seafood exploitation were issued. Currently, the whole province has 4,153 means of seafood exploitation. Some occupations with high efficiency: purse seine, cast net, gill net...

The conference also deployed the plan for fishing in the northern season and solutions to implement the plan. Striving to achieve the output of fishing in the northern season of 1,120 thousand tons, of which seafood is 1,070 thousand tons, inland fishing is 50 thousand tons. Nghe An set the target for the northern season of 27,000 tons of seafood, 1,700 tons of inland aquaculture.

The conference also heard the Institute of Marine Research report on fishing ground forecasting, and the Department of Legal Inspection report on inspection work to protect aquatic resources in coastal waters. Conference delegates also discussed solutions to implement the plan proposed by the Ministry.
