Treating bee stings according to folk experience
When stung by a bee, quickly remove the stinger.
In summer, many flowers bloom and bees are active, so the risk of people being stung by bees increases, especially in mountainous areas, so we need to be vigilant to prevent bee stings.
When stung by a bee, depending on the type of bee, the patient will experience pain, swelling or may be infected with bee venom and depending on the species of bee, the venom will be more or less toxic. For example, honeybees are almost non-toxic, but there are species such as wasps and hornets whose venom can kill a person with just 10 stings.
In bee venom, there are substances: melittin can cause hemolysis, apmin causes neurotoxicity, histamine causes vasodilation, increased fluid loss, swelling, edema, dopamine causes neurotoxicity...
Therefore, when stung by a bee, the patient must be quickly taken out of the area where there are bees. If it is a poisonous bee sting, the patient must be quickly taken to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment to avoid delay which can be life-threatening. If it is a honeybee sting or a small sting, use tweezers to pluck hair or the sharp edge of a piece of cardboard, phone card, etc. to remove the stinger. While waiting to take the patient to a medical facility for examination, some of the following available herbs can be used to relieve pain and reduce swelling for the patient.
