Getafe prolong Real's pain
It seemed like Mourinho and his team would get their first win of the new season against Getafe last night, but a real nightmare has come to them.
The Madrid derby was as fierce as ever, but the 2-1 score in favor of the Alfonso Perez home team surprised everyone. With 1 draw and 1 loss in the first two matches, Real has been left behind by Barca with a gap of 5 points in the race for La Liga and it could push the royal team into a new crisis.
Real Madrid started the match well with Higuain opening the scoring in the first half. However, the home team Getafe showed resilience and did not collapse after Real's goal. Their efforts were rewarded with two important goals in the second half to help keep the 3 points at the Alfonso Perez stadium.

Ronaldo was helpless against Getafe's net. |
Going into last night's match, Mourinho made no secret of his goal of winning 3 points by fielding the strongest possible lineup with the attacking trio of Ronaldo, Higuain and Di Maria playing at the highest level. Supporting them were Mesut Oezil and Xabi Alonso.
With superior force, it is not difficult to understand why Real attacked from the beginning of the match and they were the ones who had the opportunity to open the score first. Oezil coordinated a one-touch with Ronaldo in Getafe's penalty area but when the ball returned to the German midfielder at a distance of only 6m in front of the goal, this player unbelievably hit the crossbar.
However, Jose Mourinho's team quickly opened the scoring after that. In the 27th minute, Di Maria had a favorable pass to help Higuain run past goalkeeper Miguel Moya to score the first goal of the match.
The last dangerous chance of the first half still belonged to Real. This time it was Ronaldo's turn to threaten Getafe's goal with a familiar dribble down the left wing before cutting into the middle and unleashing a powerful shot. Unfortunately, this time it was goalkeeper Miguel who won and the score remained 1-0.
Getafe showed a completely different side in the second half, pushing forward in search of a goal. And their efforts were rewarded just eight minutes after the restart. From a set piece, Barrada crossed the ball from the right wing and Valera jumped high to head it into the far corner, beating goalkeeper Casillas.
Getafe's equalizer did not make Real falter. The white team still organized dangerous attacks towards Moya's goal, including Ronaldo's volley in the 70th minute, but unfortunately the Portuguese player was unsuccessful.

Barrada's goal was the end of Real's efforts. |
In the second half, Mourinho was eager to score and decided to bring Benzema on to replace Diarra. However, before the French player could speak, Getafe launched the final blow against the white vultures just 15 minutes before the end.
Substitute Adrian Colunga dribbled past Abiol on the left before crossing for Barrada to fire a powerful shot from 15 yards past Casillas. It was a classic Getafe counter-attack and it showed how much the absence of Pepe in defence has affected Real.
In the final minutes, Real put all their forces into attacking but their efforts were in vain against Getafe's defense. Even more embarrassingly, Fabio Coentrao received a red card after using bad words with the referee.
Losing 1-2, Mourinho and his students have the worst possible preparation for the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup in the middle of this week.
