Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Duc Phoc was pleased to welcome the delegation to visit and work in Nghe An province. He expressed his interest in JICA's activities in recent times and thanked JICA for its assistance to Nghe An province.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues surrounding the progress of the KOBELCO Steel Plant project and the issue of renovating the Kim Lien Relic Site. Currently, the operation of the Thach Khe Iron Plant (Ha Tinh), the main source of raw materials for the KOBELCO Steel Plant, is not stable. The reason is due to problems in site clearance and capital exploitation... The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed a number of options for the Japanese investor to choose from to promptly resolve the above issue.

Professor Tsuboi Yoshihatu - Head of the working group thanked Nghe An province for creating favorable conditions for the implementation of the KOBELCO Steel Plant project. The professor expressed his hope that the local government and relevant parties would cooperate to make efforts to solve the problem at Thach Khe iron mine. After discussion, the two sides agreed to directly survey the Thach Khe iron mine to study and find solutions to overcome the difficulties.

Regarding the restoration of Kim Lien relic site, the province has attached it to the New Rural Development Program of Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan). The relic site has now been recognized as a special national relic site. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the delegation for their advice and contributions and promised to take them into account during the restoration process to ensure the solemnity of the relic site.
