The genius leader Lenin once pointed out: “All revolutionary parties that have perished so far perished because of arrogance, because they did not know what made them strong, and because they were afraid to speak up about their weaknesses. As for us, we will not perish because we are not afraid to speak up about our weaknesses, and we will learn how to overcome those weaknesses.”

Imbued with the truth of Lenin's teachings, and at the same time with the burning desire to create a clear change, overcome the limitations and weaknesses in the work of party building, the 4th Conference of the 11th Central Executive Committee, on December 31, 2012, issued a Resolution "Some urgent issues on party building today". The content of the Resolution identifies 3 key and urgent tasks along with 4 groups of solutions to solve these problems, in which the group of solutions on self-criticism and criticism is especially emphasized, promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of superiors, in order to create a new step in the work of party building, making our Party increasingly clean and strong, meeting the requirements of national renewal, the group of solutions on self-criticism and criticism is identified by the Conference as things that need to be done and can be done immediately.

Self-criticism and criticism in the Party is a book collected and compiled by a group of authors, published by the National Political Publishing House in May 2012, meeting the purpose of propaganda, moral education, and ideology of cadres and party members; as well as the need of a large number of readers to learn about a number of major political issues, hot, current, and of practical significance for our country in a revolutionary period with many challenges both domestically and internationally.

The book was formed on the basis of Resolution 4 of the Central Committee, guiding and directing documents, and a collection of articles on self-criticism and criticism from the perspective of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought by many authors who are prestigious leaders, in-depth researchers on politics, ideology, and culture in our country...

President Ho Chi Minh with his 8 articles on self-criticism and criticism, is respectfully placed in the first part. If we have the opportunity to read more widely Uncle Ho's works on self-criticism and criticism, we will see that in the years 1945, 1946, 1947, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1957.... He wrote, depending on the specific situation, from many different angles and requirements of the revolutionary cause led by the Party.
