Nghe An police support breeding cows for poor households in Quy Chau
(Baonghean.vn) -As part of a project to help people in the mountainous commune of Chau Hoan (Quy Chau) to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, on October 1, representatives of Nghe An Provincial Police handed over the 6th batch of 20 breeding cows to 20 poor families in Chau Hoan, increasing the number of supported breeding cows to 98.
The ethnic minorities who received the cows as well as the local authorities were very grateful for the kind work of the Nghe An Provincial Police, and signed a commitment to manage and take good care of the cows so that they could reproduce quickly, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Ms. Tuyet was moved: Thank you, police comrades. If it weren't for the support, my family would never have had enough money to buy such cows.
People receive cows with the hope of escaping poverty.
According to the People's Committee of Chau Hoan commune, among the 78 cows of households that were provided from the first phase to October 1, 2012, 24 more calves were born. Of which, the cow of Mr. Quang Van Phuong's family (in Na Xa village) has given birth to 3 litters of calves. Mr. Phuong said: Since the Provincial Police supported a cow, the family has always learned how to take care of it effectively, calling the commune veterinarian every month to check its health. In addition to natural foods such as grass and forest leaves, the family also feeds the cow cassava and rice bran, so the cow grows well and has given birth to 3 healthy calves. My family is very grateful for the attention and help of superiors, especially the Provincial Police.
