Construction of the monument "The rear towards the front line" started

(Baonghean)On the morning of October 1, Tan Ky District People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the campus, monument, auxiliary works and technical infrastructure with the theme "The rear towards the front line".

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Tan Ky district became the starting point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail. During the 16 years of resistance, the Truong Son road logistics system transported more than 1 million tons of goods and weapons, transported 10 divisions, 3 army corps, escorted 90 technical units to support the southern battlefield, contributing to the defeat of the American invaders.

To pay tribute to the great sacrifices and honor the contributions of the Northern rear, including the hometown of Tan Ky - the starting point of the legendary road, on April 14, 2010, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 1526 approving the Investment Project to build the campus and monument "The rear towards the front line" in Tan Ky Town. The project is built on an area of ​​5.35 hectares with a total initial investment of 62 billion VND, including the main items: Monument and reliefs located in the center of the square, 2-storey cultural clubhouse, 1-storey sports hall and auxiliary items.

The project is under construction from now until 2015 and will be completed and put into use. This is a project of national historical significance, honoring the great contributions of the entire Northern rear in the resistance war against the US to save the country, creating a highlight in terms of aesthetics and architectural space. This is also a place to contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit for the young generation today and tomorrow.
