Heavy fines for overloaded vehicles and overcrowding during Tet

The Prime Minister has just issued Official Dispatch No. 95/CD-TTg on rectifying the situation of road transport vehicles violating regulations on overloading and carrying more passengers than allowed, resolutely handling and applying the highest penalty to vehicles carrying overloads and carrying more passengers than the prescribed number.

Currently, the situation of road transport vehicles violating the regulations on overloading and carrying more passengers than allowed is quite common, seriously affecting the works of the road system, at the same time causing traffic insecurity and being the cause of many serious traffic accidents.

To rectify this situation, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Information and Communications, Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, the National Traffic Safety Committee, and media agencies to coordinate and urgently direct relevant agencies to implement.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested to strengthen inspection and examination of compliance with road transport regulations for transport enterprises. Resolutely handle and apply the highest penalties according to the law for means of transport carrying overloaded loads and passenger vehicles carrying more than the prescribed number of seats.

Strengthen measures to combat and prevent negative behaviors. Regularly organize inspection teams to check the compliance with procedures and regulations on the performance of official duties for traffic inspectors and the compliance with orders for officers and soldiers directly performing the tasks of patrolling, controlling and handling violations of traffic safety and order. Strictly handle negative behaviors of public servants while on duty according to the provisions of law./.
