Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung receives Japanese Ambassador
On the afternoon of December 25, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Japanese Ambassador Tanizaki Yasuaki to discuss measures to promote cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight at the positive developments in the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership in recent times, saying that this relationship has truly gone into depth, is effective and has brought practical benefits to the common development of both countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Vietnam will make every effort to continue promoting and developing the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields, making it stronger and more extensive.
Emphasizing that 2013 is the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hopes that both sides will promote delegation exchanges at all levels and people-to-people exchanges to enhance friendship, trust and mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples.
In the economic field, Vietnam hopes that Japan will continue to provide ODA to Vietnam; at the same time, it requests that the two sides closely coordinate to remove difficulties for economic cooperation projects, especially key cooperation projects between the two countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also suggested that the two sides strengthen dialogue mechanisms; closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Tanizaki Yasuaki expressed his agreement and affirmed that he will do his best to promote the cooperation contents mentioned above by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; said that Japanese enterprises are always interested in seeking investment cooperation opportunities in Vietnam; and hoped that the Vietnamese Government would create favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to come to Vietnam for long-term cooperation and business.
Besides promoting and removing difficulties for cooperation projects between the two countries that are currently being implemented, Japan hopes that the two sides will continue to exchange and promote to reach agreement on new cooperation projects in the coming time, Ambassador Tanizaki Yasuaki said.
As a friendly friend of Vietnam, Japan is willing to share its good experiences in building and developing the country's economy with Vietnam, including experiences in resolving and handling bad debt.
Diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam were officially established on September 21, 1973 and 2013 marked exactly 40 years. In October 2011, during a visit to Japan, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Japanese Prime Minister Noda decided to designate 2013 as the “Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
